Committees
Membership Committee
The membership committee is responsible for policies and processes supporting FiP members and for operating the oversight procedures expected of an organisational member of UKCP. The committee is led by David Hayter with a team of individuals supporting the operation of annual renewal processes including CPD returns and reaccreditation groups. This committee also maintains up to date policy guidance and supports membership queries.
Applications Committee
The applications committee is headed by Rachel Child who chairs a team of individuals briefed in relevant processes and able to undertake reviews and assessment of applications. They are responsible for maintaining and operating the processes required to deal with applications for FiP membership.
N.B. FiP is a listing organisational member of CPJA and no longer operates as an accrediting organisation in respect of applicants seeking UKCP/CPJA registration and accreditation. Applicants seeking to accredit should consult UKCP directly to be signposted to available accrediting bodies.
Ethics Committee
The Ethics committee led by Irene Tagg underpins FiP’s commitment to ethical and professional practice. It reviews and publishes guidance to members and oversees the policies and processes for responding to complaints and ethical challenges affecting both individual members and FiP itself.
Clinical complaints (i.e. relating to member’s work with clients) are heard by an individual member’s registering body (predominantly UKCP). The ethics committee is therefore able to offer independent support and advice to members with concerns about anticipated or actual complaints.
Continuing Professional Development (“CPD”) Group
Muriel Walshe chairs FiP’s CPD group. Over several years the group has a developed and delivered a regular programme of CPD events. The current ambition is to offer 3, free to member, CPD events each year. The CPD team is always keen to receive ideas and support from members in order to continue to provide a lively and engaging CPD programme.
